PETER GLEESON, Licensed Massage Therapist

Specialized in myofascial massage for athletes, Peter regularly assists Julien Gagnon with follow ups for Asana students recovering from injuries or looking to strengthen their body. Believing that the human body has tremendous self-healing powers, Peter has added several therapeutic disciplines based on movement to his skill set.

Peter has worked as a massage therapist since 2007. He sees massage as a support for recovery, one that can bring about lasting change in the body and mind. It was during his career as a professional dancer in several international companies that he was exposed to the benefits of movement therapies which he believes contribute to well-being and balance.

Peter believes in the holistic nature of massage therapy and his training is, in itself, holistic. He initially trained in the Swedish approach (Kine- Concept, Montreal), before adding myofascial and deep tissue massage to his repertoire. Peter then specialized in myofascial massage for athletes, training with Brian Buckley at the CORE Institute in Florida, and with Tom Myers, Kinesis, USA, where he was introduced to structural integration.

Following these multiple trainings, Peter launched Lissomcorps in 2007. His clientele consists of mainly of yoga practitioners and teachers, athletes, including professional dancers from several companies, like Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Rubberband Dance Group, ezdanza and Sylvain Émard Danse.
